My action plan was to help the people in Vietnam and Vietnam Veterans that have been affected by Agent Orange and other herbicides by spreading the word about the affects of Agent Orange. But, fortunately, organizations have already taken the responsibility in helping these people get compensation from the chemical companies that produced Agent Orange during the war. One organization is called the Vietnam Agent Orange Relief & Responsibility Campaign. Their mission is this: “The Vietnam Agent Orange Relief & Responsibility Campaign is an initiative of U.S. veterans, Vietnamese Americans and all concerned about peace and justice. We insist our government honor its moral and legal responsibility to compensate the Vietnamese victims and all victims, of Agent Orange” They need congress to pass HB 2519, which will give those affected by Agent Orange a down payment of a much larger bill owed.
Another organization group MAG (Mines Advisory Group) has also been working to eliminate all of the landmines and other ordnance left during the Vietnam War. They have been able to remove 15,340 unexploded ordnance, and 2,615 cluster munitions in Vietnam. MAG also helps other countries and their need to remove these dangerous weapons from their land.
